Presenting a little better...

I suck at presentations.. and I'm working hard to improve myself. I've come a long way from where I was a couple of years ago, but hey, it's a work in progress. A Client told me the other day this uebertruth: NEVER use the same presentation for different groups even if they are from the same company and if their work profiles 'kind of match' TUNE, TUNE, TUNE your presentation.. Thanks Hans.. Now I came across this post on the 800-ceo-read blog, and it was too good to resist, so here are the tips from Marjorie Brody Here are her tips:
  • Know your audience
  • Make it interactive
  • Tell stories, and use metaphors, analogies and quotes
  • Make it relevant
  • Be dynamic
  • IF you use powerpoint, go easy on the slides
  • Wear appropriate clothing
  • Manage stage fright through repetition
  • A new friend of mine Anders Abrahamsson pointed me to this post by Guy Kawasaki "The 10/20/30 rule"
